Collegiate Target Regionals - West
Easton Center, Chula Vista, CA
April 10-12, 2026
Collegiate archery events have a very different feel from just about any other tournament you’ll attend. From the moment things get underway, the team energy is hard to miss. Chants echo across the field, hand signals and inside jokes are everywhere, and teams show up in full force with matching gear, accessories, and plenty of personality.
This year’s USA Archery Collegiate Target Regionals (West Region) brought a strong turnout, with a full shooting line that kept most athletes occupied throughout the event. With only a single line running, there wasn’t much downtime. Outside of the team rounds, nearly everyone present was either on the line or preparing to be.
Vendors were set up just behind the barebow line, creating a central hub of activity between rounds. Represented on-site were OCD Strings, Victory Archery, and RamRods Archery, along with a Mexican food truck that drew plenty of attention, especially for those brave enough to translate some of the menu items literally.
The event followed a full weekend format:
Friday: Official practice
Saturday: Individual qualification, followed by mixed team rounds
Sunday: Individual eliminations, followed by team rounds
As always with collegiate events, the competition itself was only part of the experience. The camaraderie, school pride, and constant energy throughout the weekend made it clear why this format continues to be such a favorite among participants.
