The Vegas Shoot is the world's largest and most prestigious indoor archery tournament. Held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada, the event attracts thousands of archers from around the world, from first-time competitors to Olympians and world champions. Known for its iconic three-spot target format and exciting championship shoot, The Vegas Shoot remains one of the most anticipated events on the international archery calendar.

This year marked another great trip to Las Vegas for OCD Strings. Throughout the weekend, our booth stayed busy with archers looking for pre-made and pre-stretched strings, placing custom string orders, and asking questions about materials, serving choices, and string maintenance. One of the best parts of the event is always catching up with returning customers while meeting new archers who are discovering OCD Strings for the first time.

Our live string-building demonstrations continued to be a popular attraction, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship that goes into every custom string. We enjoyed answering technical questions, discussing different setup options, and helping archers find the best solution for their equipment.

This was our second year at the new venue, and unfortunately, attendance was down about 26% from the previous year. The vendors were moved into one large ballroom instead of being split between two rooms, which actually made it easier for archers to find the companies they wanted to visit. Even though the vendors shared the same space as the competition, we could barely hear the archers shooting, so the acoustics worked surprisingly well. Although, we might have liked hearing a little more of the action.

One of my favorite moments from the weekend came from a conversation with an archer who wanted to dive into the finer details of bowstring construction. We spent quite a bit of time discussing different techniques, and by the third day she returned so we could build a string together. During the process, she showed me a method of using Teflon tape as end loop serving that I had never seen before. It was a great reminder that even after years of building strings, there is always something new to learn from fellow archers.
