California State 2025

Easton Center, Chula Vista, CA

July 19, 2025

The California State Games Archery Competition is part of the annual California State Games, a dynamic multi-sport festival inspired by the Olympics. Since its founding in 1988, the Games have brought together amateur athletes from across the state to compete in a wide variety of sports—including archery, basketball, swimming, gymnastics, and more.

This year’s archery event on July 19, 2025 was full of memorable moments. We hosted a booth on-site and enjoyed meeting archers, coaches, and families. In true tournament fashion, the day included a few surprises: someone accidentally shot through the power cord on Field 1, cutting audio for about 30 minutes. We also discovered an orphaned bow limb in the grass (later reunited with its owner).

Hot Bev’s Coffee & Tea kept everyone cool (or caffeinated!) throughout the day, and a field hockey event happening nearby added to the lively, festival-like energy of the venue. As always, the competition welcomed participants of all ages and skill levels in olympic recurve, barebow, and compound divisions, continuing the Games’ legacy of fostering sportsmanship, community, and athletic development.
