Lakeside Range Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - May 14, 2025
I'd like to take a moment to brag about our own Elizabeth Howe. She is one of our sponsored archers and she's done something amazing.
Since her freshman year of high school in 2022, Ellie has been working tirelessly to get a new outdoor archery range built in San Diego County — and now she’s done it!
" This has been a labor of love. From handing out hundreds of flyers, getting over a thousand signatures on my community interest petition, and countless meetings, emails, and presentations. I can not overstate how excited I am, and what a huge deal it is to me to see this project finally coming together at an actual location! It has been a community effort with some incredible people at the County of San Diego Parks Department, Supervisor Anderson's office, and the archery community of San Diego County."

We were lucky enough to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony and join other local businesses to showcase what we have to offer. We did string-building demos and talked to attendees about archery. The crowd included local residents, County of San Diego employees, and archers thrilled about the new range.
At one point, a local Girl Scout troop descended upon us like a whirlwind of badges and curiosity. They were clearly on a mission to ask questions — likely a badge requirement — but no one told them they had to wait for the answers. Most of them fired off a question and then ran away. Requirement met!
After the scheduled speeches and ceremonial ribbon cutting, the non-archers mingled for a bit before heading out, leaving the archery community to do what it does best — start flinging arrows and putting some holes in those brand-new target faces at every distance.
It’s incredible to have a new range nearby, not only for the opportunity to shoot but because it’s the direct result of the determination and hard work of such an inspiring young archer. We can’t wait to see what Elizabeth accomplishes next!
